Don't Faint!

It's March and this is only my second post in 2011 - so much for the New Years Resolution.

And what a pfaff it's been. How can something that looks so simple be so difficult? First there was the cutting around the image, then I thought I would thread up the full size sewing machine as you need to have bionic eyesight to thread up the mini version I bought for cards - could I remember what to do? - could I heck and about an hour later we were good to go.

Anyhoo I hope it's worth the 'sweatinducingbleepbleeproomlikeashambles' effort. The image and sentiment are from Pink Petticoat, a button and a little fancy punching is all there is to this easy peasy card - not!

I'm entering it into the Less Is More (pastel) and Clean and Simple (sketch) challenges.

Luv Ya

Good morning everyone I hope you are having a good Saturday. I had hoped to catch a few rays today but it looks like it's not to be.

Anyway, this is my entry from the Papertake Weekly Challenge. The theme this week is digital so I thought I would have a go at a pop-up card. It wasn't as hard as I thought but I think my technique needs some perfecting.

To qualify for the challenge I have used Big Dots for the background and the lovely Ella from Pink Petticoat on the inside - isn't she gorgeous? I also had a little experiment with my Cricut Design Studio for the name and sentiment. Some bling and a flower on her bootie and that's it.

Hedgie Hello

What a difference a week makes. Last weekend we were basking in glorious sunshine and this weekend.......well let's just leave it at that lest I'm banned from blogland for bad language.

To top it all I have a stinking cold, my throat is on fire and I'm doing a fair impersonation of Rudolph. I've been awake since 4 a.m. and have been sneezing and sniffling ever since......no amount of slap is going to disguise this sorry situation so it's a day for indoors today.

Anyway enough moaning. Here is my card for Sketch Saturday (sketch), Penny Black (blooming gorgeous - flowers) and Secret Crafter (bling).

The DP is from Pink Petticoat Rainbow Doodles and Washed Out Collections in Papaya. The image is PB coloured using Whispers Brush Markers and a water pen, the ribbon, bling and letters are from my stash.

Cranberry Crush

Despite the colour being a bit scary this is my entry for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is anything goes.

I've used Pink Petticoat Lola's Boudoir papers, my new Penny Black Portraits stamp which I've paper pieced with co-ordinating Cranberry paper and jewelled the centre of each flower with teeny Bedazzled beads. I've also stitched around the outside which fits in nicely with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is to either tear, sand, distress or sew the edges of your card (I think this qualifies on two counts in that the sewing is a bit distressed!).

Oh and by the way what about Kath's DT card for Penny Black this week? I honestly gasped when I scrolled down - oh to have a smidgen of her talent (a touch of the green eyed monster coming out in me) but we can live in hope.

Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

'Charming' Handbags

Last for today and this is for Our Creative Corner - I have made two little handbags filled with mini-eggs - using my favourite DP from Pink Petticoat and a new little stamp from Penny Black.

The 'charms' have been made using a PB flower stamp coloured with Whispers pens and the initial stamps are from Studio G, a little gem for the clasp, some seed beads and that's it.

You can find the template for the handbags HERE courtesy of Jackie Wright.

Iced Confection

Here is my entry for the Our Creative Corner Challenge which is based on a sketch by Kim Teasdale. I've used a Pink Petticoat image (is it OK to use digi-stamps for this challenge?), DP paper by Mad About Cards matted onto Pink Petticoat Washed Out Bubblegum, some embossed card stock and ribbon from my stash.

I need to go now and do some work around the house before the rugby comes on. It's the big one today..... England V Scotland. I don't think my nerves can stand it - although you have to admire my optimism!

Sugar Plum Hippo

Just one challenge today and it's for Charisma Cardz which is a sketch challenge this week.

I've used leftover Pink Petticoat flower and hearts design in Putty (this could be my new favourite), a Pink Petticoat image, some Card Candy dots, a stick on sentiment and a couple of rows of stitching.

No Pink - Well Almost!

Last one of today and it's for the ABC Challenge - F is for.... Flowers.

I've printed a Pink Petticoat flower and hearts design directly onto the cardstock in Putty, die-cut an aperture, die-cut and punched flowers, some Card Candy dots and a little pearl heart on the inside from my stash.

Liar Liar Pants On Fire

Yesterday - "Tomorrow I'm going to challenge myself to make some cards which don't have pink in them."

Today - Here is my first card of today for the Pink Elephant Challenge theme of buttons.

What is it with me? I was never a pink girl and now I just can't help myself. Back to the card...the DP is a download from Mad About Cards, the image is Pink Petticoat, the sentiment is computer generated and the bow and buttons are from my stash.

Smooth Sage

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's a lovely sunny day today in the West of Scotland - I think when it's brighter it gives you a little lift don't you?

This is my card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and I just loved this sketch - I think it's a really feminine one. So my offering is using Pink Petticoat Blooming Doodles and Washed Out papers in Sage. The image has been coloured using Whispers pens, the large flower has been die cut and embossed and the smaller ones have been punched. The scalloped edge is a Fiskars border punch. A little ribbon and paper dots and that's it.

Holy Cow!

A card on a Tuesday? I must be ill.

This is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge based on another of Dawny's sketches. The lovely image is from Sugar Nellie and she is called Custard (now that I look I think it is a he) which I bought ages ago at the SECC. Custard has been coloured using Whispers pens, the DP is from Pink Petticoat Rainbow Doodles Collection, the ribbon and sentiment (mmmm.. not sure) are from my stash.

Yum Yum

Last one for today - I just can't get into it - same as last week.

This is for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is food and drink. Predictably I'm back to my fave colour combo and PP paper. The fab image is a free download from Funky Fairy and the ribbon is from my stash. I think it looks good enough to eat but I'd rather have a bag of crisps - however I don't think that would be as appealing on a card - although I don't know......Cheese 'n' Onion anyone?

Thanks for looking!

Bubbles

Hope you are having a good Saturday. Boy oh boy was this a challenge - definitely a marathon and not a sprint.

It's for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is a recipe challenge - three brads, two ribbons and one flower. I'm not very good with too much going on - less is more in my book - but I hope it turned out OK.

The DP is from Pink Petticoat, the image is coloured with Whispers pens and the rest of the decor is from my stash.

Inspired

Woo-hoo....the lovely Glenda has three new pals....for a while there she was Billy No Mates in my followers list....thanks to all for following.

Anyway, after a totally unproductive weekend I've made a little card tonight for the Cupcake Craft Challenge - which is to create a card using a photograph for inspiration. I'm also entering it into Charisma Cardz Challenge which is to make a pretty card for mum.

Mine is in a lovely Sunshine Yellow DP and image from Pink Petticoat. I've added some black card to frame (my inner Goth thing again), the ribbon is recycled from a Links charm and a little black bling in the centre of the large bloom from my stash.

Purrrrrr.....

Challenge III today is for Truly Scrumptious a new challenge blog and their first sketch.

I seem to be having a dotty day today - all three cards have polka dots on them. For this one the image and DP's are from Pink Petticoat, the flower is made from a die-cut and a punch, the sentiment is computer generated and the little pearls and bow are from my stash.

Need to get moving now - I've done nothing else this morning other than crafting - but if I get a wiggle on I might be able to squeeze some more in later.

Sow Lovely To Meet You

It's Saturday again and for a change it's fairly bright. Over on the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge this morning we have a lovely sketch to work with from Jill.

I've used a lilac PP paper, a PP image, some glitter for the flowers and some beautiful pearlescent card for the photo corners and the scalloped border for the image. I love these Pink Petticoat Piggies they are so cute. Popping over now to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - see you there.

Congrat-shoe-lations

Again using my favourite colour combo of pink, black and white (scraps from my monogram card earlier on in the week) this is my card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is another fabulous sketch by Dawny P.

The papers are Pink Petticoat in Pretty Pink, a Pink Petticoat image from Lola's Boudoir Collection, the sentiment is computer generated and a little doodling around the edges to finish off.

Right off to do a bit of housework now and perhaps there will be time to squeeze in another challenge before the rugby.

P is for.........Pink Elephant

Yippee half way through the week already. Isn't it naff to be a wage slave dreaming your life away? A little extra one this week from this time poor crafter and it's for the new Pink Elephant Challenge which is to use my favourite colour combo of pink, black and white.

The papers are Pink Petticoat in Pretty Pink, the monogram is again from PP, the decorative border has been cut with a Fiskars punch, layered Prima flowers and a little ribbon from my stash. I'm quite pleased with the way this one has turned out - I think it's very girly - I hope the recipient likes it.

Oobee Doo

Here is my second card for today which I think could be a get well card or for someone who is feeling a bit down.

The DP and image are from Pink Petticoat and the design is based on the fabulous Dawny P's sketch over on Papertake Weekly. I love Dawny's sketches because they are very clean and tidy - I'm not a fan of clutter - or maybe that's my excuse for being less talented than most of you. I'm also entering it into the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is 'At The Zoo'.

So before I go how about a wee sing song?

Now I'm the king of the swingers
Oh, the jungle VIP
I've reached the top and had to stop
And that's what botherin' me
I wanna be a man, mancub
And stroll right into town
And be just like the other men
I'm tired of monkeyin' around!

Oh, oobee doo
I wanna be like you
I wanna walk like you
Talk like you, too
You'll see it's true
An ape like me
Can learn to be human too

Sugar Plum Hedgie

Last one of today and once again I'm in my black 'n' pink combo mode. This one is for the Crafty Pad Challenge which for this week only you can use any stamp - it doesn't have to be a Faith one.

The challenge this week is Mixed Media - so mine is very simple I've used embossing, paper piecing and stamping.

The Papers are Pink Petticoat in Pretty Pink, the image is Penny Black, the embossing is using my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I'll probably revisit this one later and add an embellishment/sentiment.

Off now to tidy up, have a hot bath filled with Decleor and settle down glass of wine in hand for Dancing on Ice. It's a hard life but someone's got to do it.
