Papertake Weekly Challenge

This weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge is based on Katharinas sketch #12.

This is my entry which uses a Penny Black 12 Days of Christmas stamp (calling birds) which I have used without the PB sentiment. The paper is Pink Petticoat and the image is coloured with Whispers pens.

I have come to the conclusion that I can't cut or stick straight and this must be as a result of one of four reasons:

1) I have a squinty eye
2) I have one leg shorter than the other
3) The house is subsiding
4) I have a squinty eye, one leg shorter than the other and the house is subsiding

I'm off to bed now to consider possible solutions - nighty night.

Seasons - Spring

If I don't get a move on shortly there will be a 'murrrderrr!'. We will be leaving soon and I still need to do the housework and pack - no pressure then. But before I go I need to enter this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is all about Seasons. My entry is for Spring - no time to fill in all the blurb (or finish the card) I'll do that later - I hope you like it.

Voici Maggie

Up early again this morning for a craft fix before we go away for the bank holiday weekend. This is my entry for Friday Sketchers challenge based on Mumur's sketch.

The papers are from Vicki's Retro Candy Collection again and the image is Maggie. A bit of ribbon, a few punched daisies, some sequins and voila!

Thanks for looking!

It's A Bling Thing!

This weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge #29 is to create a card with lots of sparkle. This is my entry - I hope it's allowed - I'm never sure if you must have a stamped image on your card or not. Maybe I'll be banished from blogging land and left to float in hyperspace for not following the rules.

Back to the card. The wreath and snowflakes are cut with Cricut Christmas Cheer, using white plain card and white glitter card. The silver snowflakes I got from a Christmas cracker a couple of years ago, the purple bling is from Papermania, there are also teeny weeny clear bling stars inside some of the snowflakes and some sequins.

I love it - sparkly without being tarty!

Thanks for looking.

Mellow Yellow

This weeks challenge on Papertake Weekly is a charity one. Quick Cards made easy magazine are trying to break the record for the worlds biggest handmade card for BBC Children in Need. You can use any products/materials you like but the finished card needs to be yellow!! The preferred size for the card is a standard A6 (approx 4x6 in). All donated cards will be put together to form a giant Pudsey Bear card. For each different person who sends a card (or cards!) to Stephanie Mayne, 20 Mant Road, Petworth, West Sussex, GU28 0EH, UK (to send on from PTW) Steph will make a donation of 25p.

So here is my very simple donation - I hope it's yellow enough. Papers and image Pink Petticoat, Anita's ribbon and bling from my stash.

Food Glorious Food

I woke up really really early this morning when only the meeces were about - so what to do? I decided to make a card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge #28 which is to see some food on your card.

I used K&Co papers left over from my entry on Friday Sketchers, Penny Black image coloured with Whispers pens, cupcake cut from Cricut Celebrations cartridge decorated with some Jones Tones sprinkles and some Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing.

I never really got cutesy animal stamps before but I totally get it now - I love these meeces to pieces!

Friday Sketchers

Two challenges in one day! This must be a record surely! I think I must be the slowest crafter in the world. Anyway, this is my first attempt at a Friday Sketchers challenge.

I love the colours on this one - they help cheer up an otherwise dreary day. The papers are K&Co Sparkly Sweet, image Pink Petticoat coloured with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils, a little glitter added to the fluffy bits and some faux stitching down the side.

Thanks for looking.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

I have my sensible head on today - I've done the housework BEFORE getting the craft stuff out. Usually I can't resist and do it the other way around with the inevitable result - 3 o'clock, house a tip, craft stuff everywhere and then a major panic clean up operation.

So here is my entry for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is to decorate the inside of your card.

I have used Retro Candy paper by Vicki, the Penny Black image is coloured with Whispers pens and a watercolour brush, flowers cut using Cricut and litte gems in the middle of the polka dot flowers on the inside.

Aaaaaaargh!

So there I was getting on with some more Christmas cards using Penny Black 12 Days of Christmas when I realise '3 French Hens' is missing. I had been playing around with it earlier on in the week, cleaned it, laid it on some kitchen towel to dry and that's the last time I saw it. It must be in the bin (not guilty). So I don the rubber gloves and go bin raking (bearing in mind it is pitch black outside and a lady of my calibre should not be midgie raking). Now Ian's most favourite kitchen accessory is the kitchen towel rail so - you guessed it - this one bin bag has five million kitchen towels in it as well as a smashed 'Le Creuset' gratin dish which he hasn't yet confessed to.

Anyway, I found it - turmeric stained and a bit worse for wear but I'm sure it will be OK - I can't say the same for Ian however. So now that I have finished rambling this is my card for the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge #17 Christmas is Coming.

Work In Progress

Started the Christmas card frenzy - here is card number one, sentiment still to be added. Off to church now (aka Craftology)to get some stuff. I went there last week when there were demo's on so the place was crammed full of crafters - the cheek of it! Hopefully it will be a bit less busy today and I will be able to find what I am looking for.

Paper Pink Petticoat, bauble cut with Cricut Christmas Cheer, bling Papermania and ribbon from stash.

Cute Cat

This is my entry for Cute Card Thursday Challenge #27 which is to create a card with a cat or dog image.

I have used Summer Driggs scraps from a previous card, Prima flowers and a Penny Black image coloured with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils.

I love this stamp - it was one of those 'gotta have it' purchases the minute I saw it - however I haven't used it that much because I'm not very good at colouring the cat. Never mind if at first you don't succeed.......give up and have a glass of wine!

Post Holiday Blues

We have just returned from our holidays in Zakynthos so I haven't been blogging for a while. As usual Ian spent much of his time underwater scuba diving whilst I topped up the tan. I must admit I missed my craft stuff - I can't really sacrifice shoes in my baggage allowance to take some stuff along I've already pared it down and still managed to be over. I hope you enjoy some of Ian's underwater photo's (colours not that good I'm afraid as he forgot the red filter lens for his camera).

If you ever visit Laganas in Zakynthos make sure you visit La Bella Napoli italian restaurant where you will not only find the best food in the resort but also the most lovely people including Kiri, Fabio, little Alessio and not forgetting Susan. I have sent this thank you card to them to thank them for their kindness - I hope they like it!

Pretty in Pink

This weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge is 'Pretty in Pink' - which is basically a free hand as long as your card includes lots of pink.

The image is Pink Petticoat coloured with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils, papers from Summer Driggs Memories collection, Anita's ribbon and a little Jones Tones Gold Prism Crystals.
