Happy Birthday Penny Black

Still struggling a bit with the cold and sound like Barry White but hopefully over the worst of it now.

BIG Birthday Wishes to Penny Black Saturday Challenge and here is a little card for you - have a good one!

The DP is a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine - spots and stripes my fave - the image is from PB coloured with Whispers pens, some freehand doodles using a Sakura glaze pen and the sentiment is from my new Sizzix alpha plate which I bought yesterday.

I quite like this one, I've made very little lately and what I have made I haven't really liked, so all in all the day is going OK.

Thanks for looking!

Hedgie Hello

What a difference a week makes. Last weekend we were basking in glorious sunshine and this weekend.......well let's just leave it at that lest I'm banned from blogland for bad language.

To top it all I have a stinking cold, my throat is on fire and I'm doing a fair impersonation of Rudolph. I've been awake since 4 a.m. and have been sneezing and sniffling ever since......no amount of slap is going to disguise this sorry situation so it's a day for indoors today.

Anyway enough moaning. Here is my card for Sketch Saturday (sketch), Penny Black (blooming gorgeous - flowers) and Secret Crafter (bling).

The DP is from Pink Petticoat Rainbow Doodles and Washed Out Collections in Papaya. The image is PB coloured using Whispers Brush Markers and a water pen, the ribbon, bling and letters are from my stash.

Thanks for looking!

Brrrrrrrr.......

.........I'm freezing! I've just come back from a couple of weeks in Denia and while it wasn't wall to wall sunshine - when it was good it was great. This is a view from our patio looking onto Montgo which was very beautiful -

- the only downside was you needed Sherpa Tenzing to help you get back to the house after a night out!

Still back to reality in lovely tropical Scotland looking out a woolly jumper to hide my lovely tan.

Whilst I enjoyed my holiday I did miss making things so as today is a Bank Holiday and before I do the unpacking, washing and shopping etc. (get your priorities right girl) here is my entry for the Penny Black Challenge using the sketch from the Pink Elephant Challenge.

The papers are Pink Petticoat and Summer Driggs Awareness, the image is Penny Black coloured with chalks and Whispers pens and the ribbon, buttons and tag are from my stash.

Right I'm off to get organised and hopefully squeeze in a few more challenges before the weekend.

It Was All Going So Well...

... I stamped the Penny Black Portrait image a couple of times, printed the sentiment directly onto the card, matted the image onto red and black cardstock, added a little glue to the centre of the flowers, sprinkled with Beadazzles and... spilt the pot of tiny beads all over the table. Now these little blighters are like microscopic canon balls with a life of their own and I've spent the last 15 minutes trying to capture them...I swear they are in my underwear.

Anyway this is the result for the Saturday Challenge which is flowers.

Despite the canon ball situation I kinda like it.

You Cannot Be Serious...

....I hear you say. I know, I know but the challenge over on Pink Elephant is Circles and Scallops and I have a circle and a scalloped circle so it's OK yes?

As I said in my previous post, today would be the perfect day to enter some challenges given the fact it is a Bank Holiday and the weather is pants. But I can't get into any of them so I thought I would chance my arm with this little number - sometimes less is more don't you think? - I know I'm pushing it.

The image is Penny Black, the DP is a remnant from a free download from Mad About Cards and the sentiment is computer generated.

Right I'm off to find another challenge which I can blag my way into - thanks for looking!

Beautiful Bubbles

Another dreich Bank Holiday - don't you just love it? Perfect weather to run a hot bath filled with lovely smellies and relax.

This would be the perfect day to enter some challenges but I just can't get into any of them. So I made this little pyramid box for a colleague at work who loves to have a long soak after a hard day. I filled it with miniature Decleor goodies which I'm sure she'll love.

I've used Pink Petticoat DP from Lola's Boudoir in Buttermilk and the image is Lola Rose Bubbly also from Pink Petticoat. I've added some iridescent stickles for the bubbles on her bath and attached the tag with some recycled ribbon from a Link's jewellery box.

Crafting wise it's not been a very productive weekend but I've managed to tick off quite a few things on the 'to do' front which I suppose is a bonus.
