We went for a trip on the Renfrewshire Wheel yesterday which is the latest attraction to be added to the centre of the universe otherwise known as Braehead.
Some of the views are spectacular although a bit pricey at £5 per head for about 10 minutes.
and God only knows how much it is for the VIP pod.
After the wheel we went to see the film Australia with Nicole Kidman and the gorgeous Hugh Jackman. Set in northern Australia before World War II, an English aristocrat (Kidman) inherits a sprawling ranch and reluctantly pacts with a stock-man (Jackman) in order to protect her new property from a takeover plot.
At 165 minutes long get yourself the most comfortable seat in the cinema and re-mortgage the house to fund the snacks for what is a really enjoyable film.
Kicking off in 1939, it stars Nicole Kidman as Lady Sarah Ashley, who arrives from England at her vast ranch in the Northern Territory to find her husband has been murdered by rival cattle barons.
There she meets The Drover (Hugh Jackman) and teams up with him and an unlikely crew with the nearly impossible task of droving the cattle to Darwin to beat the villainous Bryan Brown to a contract whilst he does his best to stop them.
The film has humour, villains, spectacular scenery, romance and a beautiful half white, half aboriginal boy who goes by the name of Nullah who also has some of the best lines. The cattle stampede scene will have your heart racing.
All in all a film well worth the numb bum.
