On A Roll!

Woohoo! My second post for 2015 - hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things in 2016 and do my LIM challenge on a Saturday morning as religiously as I did my homework back in the day.

The current challenge theme of 'Homespun' runs for two weeks over the festive season and I've gone with sewing as my theme. I've made a set of paper buttons which I've sewn onto a personalised card for the recipient. I had intended the Pink Petticoat background to be a bit more washed out than it appears so I hope it still qualifies as CAS.

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend and I wish you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Definitely Time For Some New Hosiery

OMG is it really over a year since I participated in the LIM challenge? Where does the time go? I barely remember how to do this but here goes - a cheeky wee entry for this weeks one layer challenge.

I decided to go a bit 'off piste' and use pastel rather than traditional Christmas colours on a Pink Petticoat image with a little Glamour Dust for a bit of crimbo sparkle. Quick and simple which will do as an emergency card for any I've missed. I think it must be time to replace the hosiery as I don't think these can take much more patching.

Here's hoping you have been nice and not naughty this year and that Santa brings you everything you wish for because you know what does Santa leaves in naughty boys and girls stockings? Answer: Batteries with a note saying "toy not included" - you have been warned!

That's all for now folks - have a great week and thanks for looking.

Horsepower

Hello bloggers.  Here's my entry for this weeks LIM challenge which is to use more than one stamp.     I can't believe I've actually used proper stamps and not my beloved digi variety - perhaps I'll be converted (nae, nae and thrice nae).  Anyway the VW camper and the sentiment is from Kanban and of the inky variety and the tree is a cheeky wee digi.    If I ever use this card I'll make a personalised number plate for the van.

And now onto another kind of horsepower.  On Monday we went to see the magnificent Kelpie sculptures.   They are absolutely beautiful and I'm sure they would be even more spectacular and sparkly on a sunny day - unfortunately Bank Holiday Monday was not one of them (there's a surprise!).   Each of The Kelpies stands up to 30 metres tall and weighs over 300 tonnes.

The fabulous Kelpie duo with my equally fabulous chocolate drop in the foreground.  And to follow some more photos without my little darling stealing the limelight.

That's all for now folks - have a great week and thanks for looking.

Smile

Helloooooo strangers!

Once again I can't believe how long it's been since I've participated in the LIM (or any other)challenge. Despite the fact that I now have a dedicated craft room I seem to get embroiled in other things.

Anyway the challenge this week is to use a die cut. I've used a Sizzix camera die on various scraps of paper and computer generated the sentiment.

And here is a little photography funny courtesy of Pinterest:

That's all folks for this week - I'm surprised I remember how to do all this - take care and have a great weekend.

Happy New Year!

Wishing all my readers a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2014. I would also like to offer you some advice if you are over 21: Hogmanay is the only acceptable time to wear body glitter without looking tragic. I also thought I would help you with your resolutions - these suggestions are actually achievable:

Gain weight. Put on at least 30 pounds.

Start buying lottery tickets at a luckier store.

Stop exercising. Waste of time.

Watch more TV. You've been missing some good stuff.

Gain enough weight to get on The Biggest Loser.

Procrastinate more.

Do less laundry and use more deodorant.

Don't waste your time relieving the past, instead worry about the future.

Drink. Drink some more (it will help you forget the past).

When becoming tearful through alcohol - drink more really quickly to progress to the next level - your runny mascara makes you look like an ugly version of Alice Cooper.

Stop buying worthless junk on Ebay.

Stop taking a packed lunch to work: you really should eat out more.

I hope these help - you will feel so much happier knowing you have achieved your goals.

Once again, have a good one.

Best Wishes For The Season

It's such a long time since I 've posted it's a wonder I still know how to.   However I thought I'd take the opportunity to participate in the last LIM (aka the best) challenge of the year (a little sucking up never did anyone any harm!).  And as it's such a busy time of year those little LIM fairies have been kind and allowed us to choose our own theme from any previous challenge.

I've chosen Week 38 - Recipe Polka Dots to enter this little number:

I've used Pink Petticoat's Hettie image and Big Fella papers. To finish the year I'll leave you with some Hettie the Hippo inspired smiles:

What do you call an insincere hippo?

A hippocrite.

How do hippos commute?

In a hippopotabus.

What do you call two hippos riding a bicycle?

Optimistic.

What do you give a seasick hippo?

Lots of room.

How can you be sure that a hippo is telling you the truth?

Have him take the Hippocratic Oath.

What happens to hippos who get too cold?

They get hippothermia.

What do you call a hippo who thinks he's sick?

A hippochondriac.

Have you stopped groaning yet?  Well all that remains is to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Thanks to the LIM girls for another year of fabulous challenges and to my readers for sticking with me - I'll try to be a better blogger in 2014.

I Like To Moo-ve It, Moo-ve It!

Hello bloggers long time no post. I've been busy running around after the all consuming Ellie.

Ellie is my little chocolate drop - mwah, mwah, mwah - if you said to me a year ago I would love this little muck raking, hole digging, hair shedding, food begging, toy destroying, attention seeking bundle of fur I would have called you crazy. She is only 7 months old now and completely rules the roost. Life's certainly not tough for this drain on our finances as this is her favourite pose:

Moving on here is my entry for the, very much missed, LIM Saturday morning fix.

I've used a Custard Cow Sugar Nellie rubber stamp coloured with Faber Castell watercolour pencils. The sentiment is from Sizzix Slobbery Kiss Alphabet Die. I have to go and have a wee lie down now due to the trauma of using an actual stamp as opposed to digi - oh my giddy aunt!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.
