Smile

Helloooooo strangers!

Once again I can't believe how long it's been since I've participated in the LIM (or any other)challenge. Despite the fact that I now have a dedicated craft room I seem to get embroiled in other things.

Anyway the challenge this week is to use a die cut. I've used a Sizzix camera die on various scraps of paper and computer generated the sentiment.

And here is a little photography funny courtesy of Pinterest:

That's all folks for this week - I'm surprised I remember how to do all this - take care and have a great weekend.

Happy New Year!

Wishing all my readers a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2014. I would also like to offer you some advice if you are over 21: Hogmanay is the only acceptable time to wear body glitter without looking tragic. I also thought I would help you with your resolutions - these suggestions are actually achievable:

Gain weight. Put on at least 30 pounds.

Start buying lottery tickets at a luckier store.

Stop exercising. Waste of time.

Watch more TV. You've been missing some good stuff.

Gain enough weight to get on The Biggest Loser.

Procrastinate more.

Do less laundry and use more deodorant.

Don't waste your time relieving the past, instead worry about the future.

Drink. Drink some more (it will help you forget the past).

When becoming tearful through alcohol - drink more really quickly to progress to the next level - your runny mascara makes you look like an ugly version of Alice Cooper.

Stop buying worthless junk on Ebay.

Stop taking a packed lunch to work: you really should eat out more.

I hope these help - you will feel so much happier knowing you have achieved your goals.

Once again, have a good one.

Best Wishes For The Season

It's such a long time since I 've posted it's a wonder I still know how to.   However I thought I'd take the opportunity to participate in the last LIM (aka the best) challenge of the year (a little sucking up never did anyone any harm!).  And as it's such a busy time of year those little LIM fairies have been kind and allowed us to choose our own theme from any previous challenge.

I've chosen Week 38 - Recipe Polka Dots to enter this little number:

I've used Pink Petticoat's Hettie image and Big Fella papers. To finish the year I'll leave you with some Hettie the Hippo inspired smiles:

What do you call an insincere hippo?

A hippocrite.

How do hippos commute?

In a hippopotabus.

What do you call two hippos riding a bicycle?

Optimistic.

What do you give a seasick hippo?

Lots of room.

How can you be sure that a hippo is telling you the truth?

Have him take the Hippocratic Oath.

What happens to hippos who get too cold?

They get hippothermia.

What do you call a hippo who thinks he's sick?

A hippochondriac.

Have you stopped groaning yet?  Well all that remains is to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Thanks to the LIM girls for another year of fabulous challenges and to my readers for sticking with me - I'll try to be a better blogger in 2014.

I Like To Moo-ve It, Moo-ve It!

Hello bloggers long time no post. I've been busy running around after the all consuming Ellie.

Ellie is my little chocolate drop - mwah, mwah, mwah - if you said to me a year ago I would love this little muck raking, hole digging, hair shedding, food begging, toy destroying, attention seeking bundle of fur I would have called you crazy. She is only 7 months old now and completely rules the roost. Life's certainly not tough for this drain on our finances as this is her favourite pose:

Moving on here is my entry for the, very much missed, LIM Saturday morning fix.

I've used a Custard Cow Sugar Nellie rubber stamp coloured with Faber Castell watercolour pencils. The sentiment is from Sizzix Slobbery Kiss Alphabet Die. I have to go and have a wee lie down now due to the trauma of using an actual stamp as opposed to digi - oh my giddy aunt!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Cool Bunny

Helloooo!

Still here and hopefully I will have more time to myself soon after months of dealing with builders etc. So I've made a little Easter card using a cool bunny image from Dawn Moore. I've added tiny little seed beads to the jazzy shirt to fit with the LIM challenge of 'Use Beads'. The image has been coloured using Promarkers and shows my pathetic attempt at shading.

So just before I go here is a question for you:

Q. How do you know carrots are good for your eyes?

A. Have you ever seen a rabbit with glasses?

Boom Boom! Hopefully I can rejoin the LIM challenge on a more regular basis from now on. That's all folks!

Dance Like No One's Watching

Helloooo!

After being mostly absent without leave since October due to having an extension built on the house I thought I'd sneak in a quickie for this weeks one layer music challenge over on LIM. I've used a Pink Petticoat Lola Rose image which I've paper pieced with a combination of Pink Petticoat Lola Rose and freebie denim paper from Papercraft Inspirations.

Before I go I need to share a little story which appeals to my warped sense of humour. During the week I took a relative to hospital for some tests which involved getting a dye injection into their veins. After hospital we went for a nice lunch and then started to make our way home. As we left the restaurant the bus we were intending to catch passed us (a full 5 minutes early grrrr!) and with a further 30 minutes wait until the next one we jumped into a hostelry right behind the bus stop. My relative can't see very well and as we entered the ladies there was no light in the corridor. Once inside the toilet proper, out of about 8 cubicles, only one had a working bulb. As a result this cubicle was obviously overused and wasn't flushing properly. Anyway we answered the call of nature then went to the bar where I ordered 2 small glasses of wine and the following conversation took place:

Me: Are the management aware that there's only one working light bulb in the ladies?

Barman: Yes we're aware of it. We have to get the light bulbs from a specialist supplier, they're on order and we're expecting them any day now, sorry. (On the tip of my tongue: have you tried that specialist supplier B&Q mate?)

Me: Only I noticed a sign on the wall in there that if anyone is found taking drugs on the premises the police will be called. If I wanted to shoot up I would have trouble finding a vein it's so dark in there!

The barman had a good old chuckle as I am the least likely druggie you could imagine. Anyway the thing that amused me most about the story is the fact that the fluorescent dye injected into my relative makes your skin yellow and colours your urine. As the toilet she used wouldn't flush properly her yellow fluorescent wee is probably the only source of light remaining in the ladies of this classy establishment! Sorry for the toilet humour but I did warn you my sense of humour is a bit warped.

That's all for now folks - got to go as Scotland are playing Italy in the Six Nations soon - let's hope they don't match last weeks gubbing at the hands of England. Cover your ears now much screaming (come on Scotland) at the telly to follow!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Housework Can't Kill You But Why Take The Chance?

Still in the midst of home renovation mayhem with everything (including my good self) covered in a fog of dust. Instinct tells you to permanently flick your duster which, although completely pointless, takes your mind off the carnage surrounding you.

Anyway, onto happier things and a little theraputic challenge over on Let's Craft and Create which is to use buttons. My entry is a little baby shower guest book which I was asked to make to try to match existing stationery.

I made the digital paper and the baby face is from Cricut's Doodlecharms cartridge. It's meant to look like a little baby tucked up in bed - not sure if I achieved that but it was quite a good match for the shower theme.

I'm also entering it into:

Creative Moments - Anything but a card
Digi Makeover Challenge - Sparkle
House of Gilli - Anything Goes
Love to Create - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes

That's all for now folks - dusting beckons and a weekend of brushing and mopping - but most importantly a couple of days free of 'workies' wandering in and out of the house.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.
